Light My Fire, maker of the popular firesteel used by many bushcrafters, has joined forces with Mora of Sweden to create a new survival knife called the Swedish FireKnife. It features an LMF Scout Firesteel that fully integrates into the handle. The blade is made of Mora's excellent Sandvik 12C27 stainless and the blade design appears to be a modification of Mora's Bushcraft Forest Knife.
The knife will be available in 5 color schemes and the expected retail price is $39.99.

Those are pretty sexy...
ReplyDeleteFor a knife they are pretty sexy :)
DeleteIndeed, I want one but wonder if there will be issues with the firesteel handle loosening up?
DeleteMora's other firesteel-clad knife was fairly unpopular due to its price point. This firesteel variant looks more viable, price-wise. Although I'm still trying to figure out who in the world will buy the powder blue color option. Blargh!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing the street price will be a little lower, so it looks to be an interesting knife depending on how well it works in the real world. As for powder blue model, maybe they were thinking of the lady bushcrafters? :)
DeleteCheers
I just bought one of these for my boy. Looks like a decent knife, throws a good spark. I'm wondering how we could replace the firesteel once it wears out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Michael. Yeah, LMF is supposed to be offering replacement firesteels soon.
DeleteLol, the Blue version is actually pretty nice in person compared to the photos :)
