Stylish and oh so comfortable, Ibex’s Indie Zip-T Merino Wool base-layer shirt has become one of my favorite backcountry shirts to throw on whenever the thermometer heads abruptly south.
Since receiving it for review back in late winter, I’ve worn the Zip-T on almost every field test and backpack trip. During the cold days of winter and early spring, it made a great base-layer that was itch-free even with its all-wool construction. During the warmer summer months, it’s been great to throw on underneath a Gore-tex shell during high-altitude thunderstorms (where the temps can drop almost 40 degrees in the space of an hour) or during cool mountain nights.
The Zip-T has also held up well to repeated washings, with minimal shrinkage while also retaining it’s softness and elasticity.
